When, on April 17th 1853, Malbec was approved for planting in Mendoza, little did they know the effect this humble grape would have on our country.
Here, at the foot of the Andes, a variety most renowned in Europe for being hard and impenetrable mellowed to produce the soft, fruit filled, elegant wines we see from Argentina today - in the process becoming one of our most treasured national icons.
