WineTime Liverpool Remains Open!

WineTime Newsletter - May 2020

As Things Stand

WineTime Liverpool is still trading out of the Great Howard Street store, albeit operating more like a trade counter than a conventional shop, primarily to keep the number of people handling the bottles to a minimum. The roadworks that have plagued us for the last 3½ years (yes really!) have ramped up of late but do finally appear to be nearing completion. Access is currently via Regent Road then Walter Street (alongside the Titanic Hotel).

Need Directions? Check out our retail page here.

If you are planning to call down and can call ahead with your requirements, I will have them ready and will happily bring them out & put them in your boot if that suits. Our retail price list can be downloaded here to help to make your selection.

Home Delivery

free local delivery from Merseyside

This is a service that we have always offered, but understandably, demand has increased significantly of late. We try to be as accommodating & flexible as possible but to simplify things I will aim to deliver to the Wirral & Chester on Wednesdays, Formby, Southport & West Lancs on Thursdays and South Liverpool on Fridays. City Centre drops can be done daily, and I can deliver any evening in the Bootle, Waterloo & Crosby areas on my way home.

 Wine Offers & News

Domaine Ott deal

We have listed the ‘Clos Mireille’ from Domaine Ott in Provence for many years – very much the standard-bearer for Côtes de Provence Rosé This is classically pale, dry and elegant. We still have some cases of the 2018 to shift ahead of the 2019 arriving, so whilst stocks last, if you’re prepared to take a case of 6 you can have it at £19.99 a bottle – the regular price is £33.00!

New Riojas

We are now importing a delightful range of Riojas from Eguren Ugarte – a visually spectacular Bodega just outside Laguardia in the foothills of the Sierra Cantabria. There are some brilliant single varietal wines from grapes such as Garnacha Blanco, Tempranillo Blanco, Graciano and Maturana as well as some bold expressions of Tempranillo. Natch they also do the usual Blanco, Tinto Crianza et al

New Organic Italians

We have just taken delivery of four new listings from Italy; 3 from Sicily, 1 from Puglia and all 4 are organic. I’ll tell you about the new Zensa wines next time as they sold out before I could get this out! The second pair are both from Sicily under the La Mura label, but both are a step (or two) up from the La Mura Nero d’Avola that we also list. La Mura Chardonnay (£9.95) is unoaked but has a lovely weight, richness & intensity whilst La Mura Syrah (£9.95) has a deep, brooding look with a generous herbal/spicy palate with blueberries, cocoa & a juicy seam of acidity.

Mixed Cases

For ease of ordering we have put these together; everyday drinking @ £40 for 6 or £75 if you double up. Premium is £54 for 6 or £100 for 12 – details here. Free local delivery because we’re nice like that!
