The EWGA Team is made up of an enthusiastic group of people who all work hard to ensure that the wines we sell are of great quality, look good and are
in the right place at the right time. Many of them have worked for the business for over 10 years and whilst a passion for wine isn’t a requirement of the
job most of the team have it. Regular meetings, weekends away and product tastings help to cement the loyal team.
Adrian Moeckell
MANAGING DIRECTOR
Adrian took over the business from his parents in the 1990's.
His drive and enthusiasm has meant that the company has gone from being a small regional wine company to a national wine wholesaler and importer.
His heart lies in Burgundy but he has worked hard to build up an exciting and commercial range from around the winemaking world to go along side the classics.
Janette McLaughlin
SALES DIRECTOR
Janette joined the business in 2000 as the first employed sales person.
She has a hotel management degree and was working in hotels in Grasmere when she first met Adrian.
She looks after many of the Lake District customers in addition to overseeing the rest of the sales team around the country.

NORTH
Craig Chappell – Wholesale Sales, Lancashire
Born and bred in Lancashire growing up on the Fylde Coast. Craig spent the first part of his working life in various catering establishments working around all the departments until he became hotel manager. His appreciation of fine food and wines was sparked here and cemented on a visit to Burgundy. Having taken his WSET Level 3 qualification he joined EWGA in 2010. He uses his background and knowledge to cement long term trading partnerships with his customers.
Dan Walker – Wholesale Sales, Cumbria
A recently WSET qualified wine lover. Dan spent 10 years in the hospitality industry he was lucky to work in London, Sydney and the South of France and here in Cumbria in a variety of front of house roles. Hugely customer-focused and dedicated to help grow business through new initiatives, staff training and team development.
Ben Paxon - Wholesale Sales, Cumbria
Cumbrian born and bred. I’ve tried to move away a number of times but the fells always pull me home. Never happier than when I’m out with my Labrador, Peggy. I’m obviously also very happy with my wife and two children… especially when we’re all out in the fresh air. My other great love in life is wine. For so many of my greatest memories, I have a wine glass in my hand. Imagine how I felt when I landed my job at EWGA. If I had to have a favourite grape, Chardonnay seldom disappoints. French is best of course but I don’t believe you have to drink expensive wine to enjoy it! I love reds too, especially Rioja. Thinking back to my days in hospitality at Lyzzick Hall with my old mate, Alfredo, always makes me smile. Rioja has a unique aroma of vanilla, spice & leather which I just love.
Peter Monk – Trade Sales
Peter has over 30 years of experience in the wine industry and over 10 years with EWGA. His introduction to the industry started with 2 years of studies at the Lycee d’Enseignement Professional de Montreuil Bellay, France, studying Viticulture and Oenology. Peter is responsible for selling the agency portfolio to the trade in the South of England
