World Malbec Day. When, on April 17th, 1853, Malbec was approved for planting in Mendoza, little did they know the effect this humble grape would have on our country. Here, at the foot of the Andes, a variety most renowned in Europe for being hard and impenetrable mellowed to produce the soft, fruit-filled, elegant wines we see from Argentina today, becoming one of our most treasured national icons.

Celebrating 100 years of Nelson Mandela
Last week, people all over the world were celebrating the fact that 2018 represented 100 years since Nelson Mandela’s birth – a major milestone in his incredible story.
The High Commissioner of the Republic of South Africa, Her Excellency, Ms Nomatemba Tambo, invited Peter Monk to attend a Freedom Day Celebration in honour of Former President, Nelson Mandela.
Castillo San Simon
We have new products from producer Garcia Carrion in Spain, Castillo San Simon. We have a red and a white, Monastrell and Airen.
Airen is a bright, plae straw yellow in appearance with beautiful fruity aromas, like apples, banana and citrus notes. A refreshing and balanced wine with good acidity. The Monastrell is a deep purple, cherry colour with beautiful fresh aromas of berries. An attractive and complex red wine with silky tannins and a long, toasty aftertaste.
