Matahiwi Estate

Matahiwi Estate

Matahiwi Estate is located in the very heart of the Wairarapa Valley and they take special pride in it. They are an award-winning family-owned winery with a very hands-on approach to wine-making. They embrace practices which encourage a healthy and sustainable vineyard and utilise only the best of the latest developments in the wine-making industry.

The phoenix for their logo symbolises the rebirth of winemaking in the area following a period of prohibition.

Attis

Attis

Since its inception in 2000, Attis has gained an almost cult-like status in Spain, recognised not just for the purity and complexity of their Albariños but also their ground breaking 'Atlantic Reds.'

The Farina brothers call the shots here, Robustiano and Baldomero, ably assisted by French oenologist Jean Francois Hebrand and the extended family, including Robustiano Jr. The 12ha estate is located in the Val do Salnes in the heart of Rias Baixas. The vineyards (almost entirely pergola trained) overlook the Arousa estuary and the Atlantic beyond. The rhythm of the estate is of course dictated almost entirely by the ocean and no wine better encapsulates this than Attis Mar which was submerged in a (secret!) inlet and gently rocked by the currents for six months.

Hambledon Vineyard

Hambledon Vineyard

Hambledon Vineyard is the oldest commercial vineyard in England. They mostly produce sparkling wines and their work is widely recognised as some of the best in the UK.

Despite a history dating back to 1952, the vineyard really came into its own in this millennia after being acquired by Ian Kellett in 1999, he planted the first Chardonnays, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier in 2005 and started to produce sparkling wines which can rival the best champagnes!

Cantina del Garda

Cantina del Garda

Catina del Garda overlooks one of the most beautiful shores of Lake Garda, one of the biggest Italian bodies of water that extends into three Northern Italian regions: Veneto, Trentino Alto Adige and Lombardy.

The coast and the inland areas of the lake have a long history of winemaking dating back to the Bronze Ages. The area is the northernmost Mediterranean climate in Europe and offers great conditions for vine cultivation - sunny days and breezy evenings ensure that grapes have ample time to develop their full character and not ripen too quickly.

Most of Cantina del Garda's vineyards lie in the controlled denomination of origin areas of Bardolino, Custoza, Lugana and Bardolino Superiore. Their DOC and DOCG appellation-specific wines offer great value for money and have a beautiful presentation combining modern and contemporary design styles.

The winery pays homage to traditional winemaking and believes in minimal intervention in the vineyard. All their vineyards have spontaneously growing grass to create a habitat rich in biodiversity for plants and animals alike. They maintain the biodiversity of their territory and protect the surrounding areas where many species can flourish.  Since 2012, the winery has been using the main Italian protocols regarding sustainable viticulture and participates in the Italian Wine Union’s Tergeo project.
